We bought this Nissan Note 1.2 second hand as a replacement for an older Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 as our household 'pool car' that could also be driven by our two sons both of whom are loaded with high insurance costs. We also needed more carrying space as our eldest son is a drummer and has a lot of kit to carry around. The family were most reticent when I suggested a Nissan, the brand having been tarnished by the Micra being about the most uncool car in the known universe! However, when they saw the car at the showroom they were completely taken and a test drive resulted in very positive comments about the quietness (no road roar as in the Corsa), smooth ride and many gizmos fitted to this model. Since buying it we all want to drive it so the other 'big' car gets left in the drive for days at a time. The thing that struck us was how little petrol it seems to use. The dealer put in about 20 litres from near empty and we have driven for two weeks before filling the tank up again. We leave it in 'eco' mode which doesn't seem to blunt the performance under normal conditions. We have used the satnav, aircon and cruise control and they all work fine. There is a ton of room for passengers and the seats are very comfortable. A revelation is the boot space which is enormous for such an apparently compact car. There is no spare wheel fitted in ours so a bagged-up bass drum can drop perfectly into the well leaving loads of space for cases and amps etc. Finally, the performance from that 3 cylinder 1.2 litre engine is so much better than the Corsa with much more pulling power at low revs. It means you hardly need to rev the engine which helps with economy. Great little car and very handsome to boot! And remember its made in Britain, something that we can all be proud of. Recommend it.
